Call to Worship
One: O mortal, can these bones live?
Many: Only the Lord God knows.
One: O people, hope in the Lord.
Many: With the Lord there is steadfast love and great power to redeem.
Opening Hymn: UMH #383 “This is a Day of New Beginnings”
Call to Prayer
Many: Lord God, Great I AM, you are resurrection and life. As we worship you this day show us who we are: bearers of good news, messengers of resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Faithful
One: Out of the depth we cry to you, O Lord.
Many: Lord, hear our voices and be attentive to our prayers.
During this time the pastor will invite you to share your prayers, both in celebration and in concern, in the comments section of the Facebook Live Broadcast. Over the course of the next few minutes we will work to name these prayers of our communal Body of Christ. As prayers are lifted, please respond with the words, “Lord, hear our prayer.”
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Old Testament Reading: Ezekiel 37:1-14
Prayer For Illumination
Many: O Lord, we wait for you, and in your Word we trust. By the power of your Spirit, set our hearts and minds on the source of life and peace: Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Gospel Reading: John 11:1-45
Sermon: “I’m a Believer” Pastor David Hall
Presentation of Offering: “Glory Be to the Father” UMH #70
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
One: May the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the resurrection and the life, bless and keep you in this life and the life to come.
