Easter Prayer Vigil — Looking for Pray-ers & Prayers to Lift Up

The United Methodist Church of Chugiak has a tradition a prayer vigil leading to Easter Sunday. In this prayer vigil tradition, awaiting the glorious celebration of the Resurrection, prayers are offered during the quietest darkest hours following the Good Friday Service, through Saturday, and up to Easter morning worship services.

This prayer vigil has worked in several different ways over the years. Here’s how we’re doing it this year.

  1. Sign Up Here to (or fill out the form in worship on Palm Sunday) to be one of 40 Pray-ers for the Prayer Vigil. You are not committing to a particular time but are committing to pray during that period from Good Friday to Easter morning.
  2. Pray at home, outside, or even at our church. Our church will be open for prayer on Good Friday (April 15th) from 8pm to midnight and then on Holy Saturday (April 16th) from 2 PM to 6 PM if you would like to pray in the church. Please contact Pastor Jim if you would like to get in at another time.
  3. You may submit prayer concerns for our prayer vigil by through a bulletin insert on Palm Sunday (April 10) or by emailing the church office.

Thank you for participating in this holy practice in this special time in the life of the church.
