While we may still be in our “Fruit of the Spirit” series (talking about faithfulness this week) we are having a “Back to School Sunday” at The United Methodist Church of Chugiak.
First off, when you enter at The Welcome Center, you’ll see we have a photo booth area where you can take Instagram-worthy photos of the favorite Student, Teacher, or Administrator in your life. Taking a pic is also a great way to tell nieces and nephews and grandkids that you’re thinking and praying for them as they transition into school.
Secondly, in worship we’ll have a “Blessing of the Backpacks” again. Have your students bring in their backpacks for the year and have your teachers bring in their work bags. We’ll say a special prayer over them during our children’s time, recognizing how important this time is in the life of our community and the lives of our families.
And, lastly, we’ll also have a special prayer in worship for our students and schools.
