WE HAVE EKLUTNA GROUP SITES A & B RESERVED JUNE 19-22. THIS IS FOR ALL OF FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND.
- St. John UMC has a competing event that they THOUGHT would only affect a few of their regulars. However, they only have one family coming. Therefore, we will utilize both sides of the group site AND we’ll try to make the middle (across from the bathrooms) as the GATHERING PLACE FOR WORSHIP/ETC.
- We have it reserved from 2 PM on Friday, June 19th to 12 noon on Monday, June 22nd. (most guests will stay Friday and Saturday nights).
- DIRECTIONS — To get to the group site, go towards Eklutna Campground. After the unattended old gate, turn right towards the Day Use site. The Group Site is on the right. OFTEN THE GATE IS MERELY CLOSED AND “DUMMY LOCKED” TO DETER EXTRA CAMPERS FROM COMING IN. Please close the gate behind you for this reason.
- We will have worship at 10:30 AM on Sunday morning… so we can have a group meal afterwards.
- THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE.
- Pastor Jim plans on being there by late afternoon on Friday. He’s usually towards the front so he can control who comes in and goes out.
- Planned gatherings: — SATURDAY at 7 PM for a Pot-Luck, SUNDAY at 10:30 AM for informal worship, SUNDAY at 11:30 AM — After Church Cookout
- You can fill your days with events with others or on your own — hikes, biking, boating, walking, sleeping, reading, etc.
- Alcohol is allowed, but we ask that you be respectful.
- You will need your own firewood.
- You can stop at the cafe along Eklutna Road if you need cell service for work or personal reasons.
