Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (conveniently located 2.5 kilometers up Old Glenn Highway from us) is again planning a 5K to benefit the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department. They have asked if our church could assist by having a water station at the assigned turnaround point (which is AT OUR DRIVEWAY!).
Our Administrative Council approved assisting with this event. We would love to have a few volunteers willing to have coolers of water, cups, and a couple of trash cans at the end of our driveway for a water break after the runners have made their way up the hill to our church. After grabbing some water, the runners will head back down to the finish at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
